Walking the talk
Walking the talk: Sustainable Office Policy
We aim to lead in environmental and social management by applying best practices to minimise our impact on the environment and increase the contributions we make to society, whilst also committing to employee health, safety and wellbeing.
Energy use: We are committed to improving energy efficiency and reducing the use of unsustainable forms of energy, ensuring that any energy is purchased through accredited green power sources and that
energy use is CO2 neutral (through minimal use of carbon offsets).
Regulatory compliance: We are committed to exceeding minimum requirements, for Commonwealth and State environmental legislation regulations, policies and initiatives.
Transport: We are committed to the use of environmentally-friendly transport and reducing the amount of interstate travel our employees undertake.
Waste: We are committed to pursuing a zero-waste target by avoiding, reducing, reusing and recycling materials wherever possible.
Consumables: We are committed to minimising the use of consumables and when purchasing goods we choose those causing the least harm to the environment, producing the least waste and which are efficient in
their consumption of energy and resources.
Service partners: We are committed to choosing service partners that align with our values and demonstrate sustainability leadership in their field.
Software: We ensure that all software licensing regulations are adhered to and support the use of open source software where possible.
Intellectual Property: We respect the intellectual property rights of clients, suppliers and contractors and are committed to safeguarding such sensitive information which may be acquired or generated in
various client engagements.
Work / life balance: We encourage a work and personal life balance in recognition that this leads to employee satisfaction and health. Employees are encouraged to balance work so that ample time is available for family and personal commitments.
Volunteering activities: We encourage and support our employees in volunteering activities, in recognition of the contribution that it makes to society.
Employee education: We encourage a sense of environmental responsibility among all staff through communication and education.
Sustainable design: We recognise it is important to consider the environment in all aspects of the branding and design process, i.e. the inks we use, printing in black & white where possible, etc. We strive to
create maximum brand value whilst minimising environmental impact. We might also say we strive to minimise visual pollution, i.e. trying to be sure that whatever we do adds value, not just something to do (or earn money) we want to work on projects that are fulfilling a genuine need.
Walking the Talk: Environmental Policy
Our Environmental Vision:
“To be a leader in creating a sustainable future for all”
Through a commitment to the principles of sustainable development we endeavour to create a sustainable future and continuously improve our environmental performance.
This commitment is an obligation of the management team and responsibility of every employee. We achieve this by:
- Maintaining and continuously improving on performance requirements outlined in the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy.
- Ensuring employees are appropriately trained and skilled to meet their environmental responsibilities.
- Actively pursuing the identification of all environmental impacts and hazards, eliminating, or if not possible, managing all risk to as low as is reasonably practicable.
- Where possible exceeding regulatory compliance with best practice environmental performance.
- Establishing and maintaining environmental targets and objectives and monitoring and improving on progress towards achieving these, consistent with ISO14001.
- Ensuring that we have the necessary resources and skills to achieve our environmental targets and objectives.
- Including environmental performance in the appraisal of employees and recognising it accordingly.
- Committing to the initiatives and requirements outlined in our Sustainable Office Policy.
- Require that companies that we deal with manage their environmental performance in line with our own policy requirements.
- Management is committed to ensuring this policy is communicated, understood, accepted and successfully implemented across the entire organisation and all relevant stakeholders.
