Case Study - Kawerau Industrial Symbiosis Project – New Zealand

The Shaper Group have been engaged by the New Zealand Department of Trade and Enterprise to advance the application of industrial symbiosis as a tool and process to attract international investment to New Zealand in the area of advanced manufacturing, clean technology and renewable energy. We have applied our sustainability business case and industrial symbiosis methodologies to identify areas of existing natural and social capital in various regions that would have international competitive advantages.

Case Study - Yarra Ranges Council Sustainable Business Program

As part of the Shire of Yarra Ranges’ support for business in the Yarra Ranges region, Business Shaper has delivered the Sustainable Business Program across three consecutive years. Participants of the program to date include directors, owners and managers of approximately 35 different businesses within the region.

Case Study - City of Kingston Sustainable Business Program

Business Shaper was appointed by City of Kingston to deliver the Sustainable Business Program to assist small and medium sized business to develop the capability and know-how to implement sustainable business practices to reduce operating costs, improve materials and resource efficiency, build staff morale and enhance reputation.

Participating companies were from a variety of industries including furniture, sports equipment and motor body manufacture, photographic laboratory and wholesale suppliers in food and beverage.

Case Study - VMIA

Providing risk management and insurance services and advice to Victorian Government departments, agencies and organisations, the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) recognised the increasing impact climate change was having and will have on both their own operations and those of their clients. In 2008 the VMIA engaged Business Shaper in developing their Climate Change Strategy.
